I studied Technical Theatre Arts at Guildhall School, following the Technical Theatre Pathway.
During my time there I learnt a wide range of skills across all Theatre Technology disciplines, though chose to focus most of my time in the area of Theatre Sound.
In his first year Michael studied a broad range of core subjects including Theatre History, Period Style, Contemporary Theatre, Health & Safety and Stagecraft & Production Process.
In addition to this he spent much of his time working on projects and productions to develop his knowledge and understanding of all Theatre Technology Disciplines.
His second year was entirely practical, spending the bulk of his time operating Lighting and Sound for productions.
During this year he also spent half a term working in set construction as part of his associated studies.
Michael also Sound Designed Hamlet a professional show at the Riverside Studios in London
Michael devoted his entire third year of studies to Theatre Sound. He lead the Sound Department for a term, overseeing the sound requirements for numerous productions. He also designed the sound for two Guildhall Productions and was the Sound Designer for a collaborative graduation project, which later went on to be replicated professionally with Mike as the Sound Designer in Teater Nordkraft, Denmark.
He also did 4 weeks work placement at Autograph Sound.
Prior to attending Guildhall School Michael also trained as a musician Gaining Grade 8 Distinction on his main instruments Tuned Percussion and Trumpet, and was trained by a West End Vocal coach, performing across many Genres.
